All you need is a few vases or glasses and plates or bowls. The size will be determined by your choice of glassware. My finished piece is about 27 inches tall.<br />
<br />
For my birdbath I chose two vases. A ruby glass vase and a very unusual light green mercury glass vase these were attached to a clear pressed glass luncheon plate for my base and I uses a cobalt blue glass charger as my birdbaths bowl. When you choose your pieces make sure the surfaces are flat and will fit together the way you are envisioning it. For my glue I used clear GE Premium Waterproof Silicone for kitchens,bath & plumbing<br />
<br />
<br />
.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8dGV-Dx8_kMh1YlEctSeS6yLg-D5o5QXo-NrWk0uRJduU84uf_9BSOQ3Bgb6Heh7lu-190nAjUlRl4ES0n9CYPXe0VNCMXqNQg_bEAReyvrDdw2uqxMl9OLlHDeBTwO2R8HZBQpvNO_k/s1600/20140725_122726-EFFECTS.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8dGV-Dx8_kMh1YlEctSeS6yLg-D5o5QXo-NrWk0uRJduU84uf_9BSOQ3Bgb6Heh7lu-190nAjUlRl4ES0n9CYPXe0VNCMXqNQg_bEAReyvrDdw2uqxMl9OLlHDeBTwO2R8HZBQpvNO_k/s1600/20140725_122726-EFFECTS.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Just 6 steps<br />
1. Clean your glass pieces, wipe the areas you are going to be gluing together with alcohol. That will remove any oily residue so that your glue will adhere better.<br />
2. Put a bead of glue around the rim of your bottom vase and place it on your luncheon plate in the desired position. I chose to use the back of my plate to attach my vase. It gave me a more stable base<br />
that way. Allow these pieces to set up before going to the next step.<br />
3. Apply glue to the base of your second vase and place it on the base of the first vase that you have attached to your luncheon plate. Allow to set before going on.<br />
4. Place your piece that you will be using as your top piece upside down on the work surface. This is so you can attach the base. <br />
5. Apply a bead of glue around the rim of your base section. Carefully take your tower and turn it upside down onto the back of the piece you chose as your top. Leave it like this till it is completely dry.<br />
6. Turn your piece over and enjoy it!!!<br />
<br />

I am ready to start blogging but I may have a problem when I see pinterest given as a source for a post I created or anyone else for that matter. As I visited a page that I had liked previously on FB to find the source for a photograph they had posted I found they had credited Pinterest. So I commented to them (after taking less than 5 minutes to track the original source) .... Pinterest is not a source for this pin. They are simply a sharing site.The source for this subway dresser is Sea Rose Cottage's Blog and it has a diy with it.
The link was broken and the blogger had not watermarked the photograph. Guess what? I can no longer comment on that site. Not happy about that but I am sure if their items were not given proper credit they wouldn't like it very much. <b>Let this be a lesson don't forget to watermark all of your work.</b> We all work too hard not to be given proper credit.<strike></strike>Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16928257001270918137noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2458992387620207722.post-37663713730916570852013-06-24T19:51:00.001-04:002013-06-24T19:51:26.712-04:00Goodby Google Reader<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/6470415/?claim=8u24edztxwr">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>.

<i><b><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></span></span></b></i><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Collect your supplies. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> Choose your frames as simple or ornate as you want. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> You will need a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to fit your frame. Choose your fabric to compliment your room and your jewelry. You will need a piece large enough to wrap around your plywood and a piece of thin batting to fit the board. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">You will also need an assortment or matching drawer pulls or door knobs and a screw just long enough to go through your plywood and tighten your pull to the board.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">You will also need a drill</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> staple gun</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> paint for your frames </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> a drill to make your hole for your knob </span></span></span></div>
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> hangers (strong enough to hold with jewelry)</span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> I used two on mine so they stay straight when</span></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;"> jewelry is placed on it .</span></span></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">I began by sanding my frames lightly and painting them to match my room. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Your plywood needs to be cut to fit into your frame.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Decide where you want to place your knobs. Drill the plywood.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Place the batting on the plywood and cover with your fabric wrapping it around to the back and staple in place.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Take your screw for your knob and place it through the hole you made for it. You may need to punch a hole in the fabric for your screw to go through. Tighten the knob to the backboard.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Place your board into the frame and staple into place.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">I cover the back of all my frames with brown craft paper. Spread white glue along the edge of the frame and place a piece of paper on the back. After the glue has stared to dry you can take a spry bottle with water and lightly mist the paper. Use your hair dryer to dry the paper. This will shrink the paper and give you a professional finish to the back. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Attach your hangers and enjoy your beautiful jewelry boards.<span id="goog_75937563"></span><span id="goog_75937564"></span></span></span></span></div>

<a name='more'></a> Sitting here tonight planning out my week ahead. Will have to start on all of the projects that I have been putting off. The list is now very long and I keep adding to it on a daily basis. I think I need to redo all of the rooms in my home. We have lived here for 33+ years. After the initial decorating I did when we moved in and the updates done as the children grew I have started so many things but never finished any of my rooms. After the kids were older and I was working and going to all of their sporting events and and driving to all of them to and from practice I would start a project and so most of the things in a room but leave something undone. This blog will help me be accountable for finishing projects once I start. I will start by finishing some of the things that are not done and have been waiting for me, some for years,and redo some that need to just be started over. Tomorrow I will work on picture and prioritizing upcoming projects.<br />
I am feeling very overwhelmed when I think about all that needs to be done. Will be working on the TV room to get it ready to install flooring. We will do that when the kitchen projects are also finished as the rooms are connected and the floors will need to all be done at once. This will be more than enough to keep me busy.Annahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16928257001270918137noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2458992387620207722.post-19143461604788795532012-01-24T10:07:00.000-05:002012-01-24T10:28:17.414-05:00Time to start thinking Valentines Day<i style="background-color: black; color: #cc0000;"><span style="background-color: #c27ba0;">Working on valentine themes. Picked up some things at the dollar store for the school party. Now I need to collect leftovers craft items from previous years(or get what I need) and come up with a craft, some games and decorations. Simple and quick crafts for 4's. Games to get the more timid involved in along with the very outgoing(my granddaughter). Maybe even a story to calm them down before they go home. Since I am a Grandma at this party my co-hostess is a mother of one of the children. We must get together to plan all of this. This is not my first time doing a four year old's party.
